The Cold Steel Gold Lion Wakizashi is the companion to the Gold Lion Katana: a shorter Japanese sword with the same Damascus steel, Hamaguri grind, and clay-tempered Hamon. The 21" blade is hand-honed and highly polished; the handle is white ray skin (samé) with black silk cord and brass menuki. The tsuba, fuchi, and kashira are accented with 24-karat gold leaf.
Lighter and faster than the full-size katana, the wakizashi was traditionally worn with the katana by samurai. The Shisa (lion-dog) motif symbolizes protection. Includes black lacquered wood scabbard. Made in China to Cold Steel specifications.
