The Cold Steel Cinquedea is a replica of the Italian Renaissance short sword (cinquedea) that became popular among noblemen for outdoor use in narrow streets. The name refers to the "five fingers" width of the blade at the guard. Cold Steel's version has a 14.5" double-edged blade in 1055–1065 carbon steel, full tang, with a hand-carved black rosewood grip and engraved steel guard and pommel.
Historically, the cinquedea combined fashion and function—often ornate, but capable of effective cuts and thrusts in confined spaces. Supplied with a black leather scabbard with engraved steel throat and chape. Made in India.
