The Cold Steel Mizutori (Crane) Katana is a step up in finish and detail: the blade is hand-sharpened with a Hamaguri grind, differentially hardened with a clay-tempered Hamon, and the spine and blade flats are highly polished. The tsuba (guard) and menuki (grip ornaments) feature the crane motif—in Japanese culture a symbol of luck, longevity, loyalty, and strength.
The handle is ray skin (samé) wrapped in brown silk-style cord; the sword comes in a black lacquered saya (scabbard). With a blade just under 30", the Mizutori is built for practitioners and collectors who want traditional aesthetics and performance in a single package. Made in China.
