When El Chete was released in 2017, it took off, immediately becoming a top selling model for TOPS. Something about the functionality of the blade along with its aesthetics just struck a chord with people in the knife community. The Mini version originally became a thought after making some wooden Christmas ornaments that were shrunken versions of full-sized blades. A few of those ornaments looked like they would make awesome knives. So, TOPS decided to get some minis made.

Its blade is fashioned from full-tang, quarter-inch thick 1095 tool steel in an bronze finish. The sandwiched Canvas Micarta handle is shaped to fit the hand like a hatchet or small ax handle for comfortable and secure use. This beastly chopping knife includes an out-the-front designed Kydex sheath with a dangler carry attachment.
