The Spyderco Sage 6 [C123GPBOR] combines a CPM REX 121 tool-steel blade with burnt-orange, peel-ply-textured G10 scales. It uses a Button-Release Compression Lock, separating it from the conventional Compression Lock of the Sage 5 in similar materials.

Button-Release Lock

The Sage series presents related folding-knife shapes with different locking systems. The Sage 6 recognizes Kevin Smock’s button-operated variation of Spyderco’s Compression Lock. The button releases the lock for closing; the blade opens manually through Spyderco’s round hole.

Blade and Carry

CPM REX 121 is a high-vanadium, cobalt-bearing tool steel selected for wear resistance and edge retention. It is a tool steel rather than a stainless grade. Burnt-orange G10 scales give this version its distinct handle configuration, while a reversible deep-pocket wire clip supports left- or right-side tip-up carry.
