This Sage 1 pairs gray G-10 scales with a satin, full-flat-ground Micro-Melt Maxamet blade. The Sage family explores influential folding-knife locking mechanisms; the Sage 1 recognizes Michael Walker’s liner lock and ball-bearing detent design.

The plain-edge blade has Spyderco’s Round Hole for manual opening. A liner lock secures it, while the reversible wire clip offers left- or right-handed tip-up carry. Maxamet emphasizes wear resistance and extended edge retention, but it is not stainless and benefits from a clean, dry blade after use.
