The Civilian is a specialized folder with a satin, hollow-ground VG-10 stainless blade and full serrations. Its reverse-S profile combines a deep curved belly with a fine, inward-curving tip, giving it a markedly different blade geometry from general utility folders.
Textured black G-10 scales and the contoured handle provide defined hand placement. The Round Hole provides manual opening and a back lock secures the blade. A curved metal clip supports pocket carry. Spyderco specifies the Civilian for specialized personal-protection use rather than general everyday cutting.
