The Assist Salt combines a satin, hollow-ground H-2 blade with a yellow FRN handle. Its blunt-tipped combination edge has a serrated working section and a plain tip section for more detailed cuts, within a corrosion-resistant rescue-tool format.
Finger grooves support the grip and can help position rope for scissor-style cutting. A recessed carbide glass breaker and an integrated whistle add emergency functions. The Round Hole provides manual opening, while a back lock secures the blade. A reversible wire clip supports tip-up carry from either side.
