The Kobun is Cold Steel's lightweight boot-knife interpretation of its tanto design. This edition combines a 5.5-inch AUS-8A blade, a black blade finish and a black textured handle. Its outline is related to the Master Tanto, but the thinner blade is an intentional part of the Kobun's lighter construction.
The plain-edged tanto blade uses a flat grind and a pronounced angular point. The molded Kray-Ex grip provides the familiar textured surface, and an included sheath covers the fixed blade. At approximately 9.875 inches overall and 4.4 ounces, this version offers a full-length blade without the greater carrying weight of the larger Master Tanto models.
