The Drop Forged Bowie combines a 9.5-inch clip-point blade with a continuous forged 52100 high-carbon steel body. Blade, guard and tang belong to the same piece of steel, while simulated-stag scales give the handle a different appearance and feel from the bare-metal models in the series.

The broad blade has a plain cutting edge, and the balance lies slightly ahead of the guard. Cold Steel supplies a molded Secure-Ex sheath with a detachable Cordura belt loop for carrying and storage. The faux-stag handle and long Bowie blade distinguish this configuration from the smaller Drop Forged Hunter and the double-edged Wasp.
