The 1849 Rifleman's Knife draws its outline from an early knife pattern purchased by the U.S. Army. Its twelve-inch spear-point blade is made from 1085 high-carbon steel with a satin finish. A brass guard and rosewood handle scales give this large fixed blade its traditional appearance.

The steel tang runs through the handle, and a lanyard hole is provided at the end of the grip. At 17.5 inches overall, the Rifleman's Knife is a substantial historical design. A leather scabbard with brass throat and chape fittings is included, together with a belt frog for attaching the scabbard to a belt.
