Bastinelli meets the Piemontese friction folder

Bastinelli designed the Slim Dragotac Piemontes to bring a contemporary outline to the older friction-folder idea. Fox’s catalogue explicitly connects the design with that traditional, non-locking construction rather than presenting it as a modern liner-lock knife.

The extended tang is part of the folding mechanism and the knife’s recognizable profile. Fox offered the pattern with both molded handles and natural wood, giving the same slim form quite different appearances.

This Slim Dragotac Orange Folding Knife configuration has a 3.00" blade made from Bohler N690 stainless. Its Satin finish is paired with orange FRN handle construction. Closed length is 5.13" .

Construction and carry

The mechanism is Friction folder (non-locking). The handle also has a lanyard opening.
