The Mora Firestarter is a black magnesium ferro rod with a rubberized handle and thumb grips. It throws sparks up to about 3,000°C and works in rain and snow; the rod is rated for thousands of strikes. Use the spine of a knife (never the edge) to scrape the rod; practice before you need it. Fits camp kits, grill gear, and emergency bags. Made in Sweden.
