This Recon Tanto uses a seven-inch SK-5 carbon-steel blade with a black powder coating and a plain cutting edge. The angular tanto profile has a pronounced secondary point where the forward edge meets the main edge. This configuration pairs that blade with a orange Kray-Ex handle.

Deep checkering gives the handle a defined gripping surface, while the guard separates the fingers from the cutting edge. A lanyard opening provides an attachment point at the rear, and a black Secure-Ex sheath is included for belt carry and storage. The knife measures 11.75 inches overall. Its SK-5 blade and coated finish distinguish it from the satin San Mai Recon Tanto.
