The Shanghai Shadow is formed from a single piece of 1055 carbon steel, with a broad leaf-shaped blade and sharpened edges on both sides. Its black finish contrasts with the exposed shape of the blade and the distinctive ring at the end of the tang.
Polypropylene scales cover the grip, while the integral finger ring remains part of the steel body rather than a separate attachment. The blade measures seven inches and the knife is 13.25 inches overall. A sheath is included to cover the sharpened blade. The one-piece construction and ring pommel distinguish the Shanghai Shadow from Cold Steel's conventional fixed blades.
