The original U2 puts laminated powder steel at the center of a very light pocket-folder design. Its SGPS cutting core is paired with a slim black composite handle, keeping the manufacturer-specified knife weight to 42 grams. The compact format and traditional opening layout make the blade, rather than extra hardware, the focus of the design.
Nail nicks on both sides support opening with either hand, and a back lock secures the blade when open. A lanyard hole provides a carry attachment. This is the original laminated-SGPS configuration with the oval U2 / LAM.SGPS blade stamp, corresponding to the version documented in Fällkniven’s archived catalogue.
